Michelle Connor's OTHER son Ryan now returning to Corrie
Just when we're trying to get our heads around the fact that Michelle Connor's biological son Alex is returning to Coronation Street next week, now they're bringing back her fake son Ryan too.
With me so far? Good!
Sharon Marshall on ITV's This Morning today announced that Corrie will be revisiting Michelle's baby swap storyline.
Michelle raised Ryan as her own after giving birth in 1992, but later discovered that a hospital mix-up meant he wasn't her son after all. Her real son is Alex Neeson who is returning to Corrie next week with a new actor playing him, and a new name too - Ali.
Sharon Marshall said on live TV today: "Cast your mind back to 2008 when there was a story with Michelle, and you might remember that it turned out that her son (Ryan) wasn't her biological son – there had been a baby swap in the hospital. This was the kid (Alex) that she had with her late partner Dean, he was switched at birth and she brought up another boy called Ryan as her own. Ryan is also going to be coming back to the show as well."
Confused? You will be.

Ugh - I woukd greatly prefer not to "cast my mind back" to that...hope this time around will be better than the last time they threw this half-baked story line at us. Not a high bar to pass, surely????
Gee, I wonder who will have the matching kidney?
I wonder if Sol Heras is returning then
I hope Sol comes back too. His character wasn't very likeable, but he played it very well...
Terrible idea, Collinson sensibly retconned this storyline, because it was such a terrible idea.
Hmm...this isn't a raping, grooming, cheating, murdering storyline, so I'll give it a chance. It can't be any gloomier than what's on the show presently.
Are we going to find out that they really weren't switched at birth after all?
As much as I hated the original storyline, I hated the fact that they have completely ignored it since. Not so much as a reference from Michelle about Alex in all these years as if it never happened. Well it did and pretending it didn't only insulted long time watchers. At least that's rectified though I have no doubt I'll hate this storyline as well.
