Corrie Goes Pop

This morning ITV's This Morning took a look behind the scenes at the making of the video for Katherine Kelly's debut single If  It's Too Late which is released on December 6th. The single comes from the album Rogues, Angels, Heroes & Fools which was reviewed on this blog earlier this month. The writer of the song, Trisha Ward, revealed that she didn't even know if Katherine Kelly could sing when she wrote the song for her but her worries were put aside once she'd visited her and she taken her through it. She also said that discussions are continuing over the possibility of a Coronation Street stage musical.

You can watch the This Morning video here.

(Apparently you can watch the music video on the News of the World site but it's subscription only and frankly even if it was free it would be too expensive.)

Hmmm... Don't care much for music videos anyway, but this one doesn't do much for me. KK is an ok singer, but she's definitely not a professional singer. I think about Andy Whyment, who is 100 times a better singer -- I guess he doesn't have the "sex" factor, so KK is the face for Corrie. Yes, her face is very nice, but promoting her as a singer is a bit far-fetched.

Talking about Andy Whyment and X-Factor, has anyone heard any more about that rumour that Kirk Sutherland tried out for X-Factor at the beginning of this last season?
I've heard no more, and the man himself is keeping his mouth very firmly shut! Believe me - you know I have tried to pry it out!! ;-)
