ITV
have an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced Production
Gaffer to facilitate and assist the Head of Production as the point of
contact between the Production Office, Technical Managers, and the
Production Lighting crew.
You will ensure that all Coronation
Street lighting infrastructure is properly maintained and tested in an
efficient and cost effective manner, assist in the training of freelance
crew and junior staff, apprentices, and ensuring health and safety
requirements are met at all times. You will be the link between the
Production Office, Technical Managers and the Production Lighting
Department including other departments in all aspects relating to
lighting, electrical, safety concerns, and any health and safety issues.
Conducting
6 and 12 monthly Lighting Dept Performance and Development reviews you
will manage, maintain and test all in house lighting equipment when
required, including Pat testing, and to supervise and oversee set rigs,
de-rigs, practical sockets and supplies. Manage and Update lighting
Plots for Studio, Lot and Camera Vans.
We will look to you to
visit any new sets, locations, projects, and recce meetings to assist
and advise on obtaining the best use of time and resources. Organise
scaffolding, equipment, delivery and pick up, overseeing checking in and
out of hired equipment, ensuring timely turnaround. Ensure all hired
equipment is returned/repaired quickly as not to hold up production if
it is faulty.
You will be a Fully Qualified Electrician with in
depth knowledge of the television industry and a City and Guilds 17th
Edition certification and strong knowledge of Electrical and Health and
Safety Regulations. With strong leadership skills you will mentor and
train apprentices, new electricians and freelance, to the required
standard needed to work in a safe and efficient manner on Coronation
Street.
