"ITV have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Web Editor. The purpose of the role is creating digital content to delight and entertain and maximise reach (heartland and new) of the Soaps' Websites and other ITV run platforms. You will manage our editorial across all platforms, publish stories and write appropriate copy for each one.

Reporting to the Online Executive Producer and Soaps Producer you will create high profile multi-media and social media content for our Online Soap portfolio on a daily and weekly basis. You will support on-air transmission and campaigns, as well as extending reach and contributing to our Transformation plan.

We will look to you to provide promotional content for our ITV homepage, programme/player pages, microsites and social media pages. Where appropriate you will also support any other applications run by other parts within ITV such as ITV Marketing. Forward planning is essential to ensure content is evenly spread maximising traffic potential and avoid duplication of features.

The successful person will be aware of localised and worldwide issues related to TX of shows and respond accordingly. You will plan, book and script on-air continuity and have a genuine passion for soaps. You will have good journalistic knowledge in editorial genres: soap, entertainment, factual, drama as well as excellent writing skills focussing mainly on Coronation Street but with some Emmerdale responsibilities.

You must have photoshop and visual awareness skills and be an expert in editorial planning. Broad experience using social media to engage with audiences is essential to spot potential news worthy stories that will extend coverage of the show onto other service and being aware of future social media trends to drive traffic through to our site.

You will have gained editorial experience within a national broadcaster or production company, in one or more of the following genres: news, soap, factual, entertainment and have experience in CMS and digital space. Knowledge of journalism and regulatory law and a keen awareness of digital trends in media would be beneficial as would be knowledge of HTML 5.
