Coronation Sweet

On our Coronation Street Blog VIP outing to Weatherfield last week, I took a few photos and here's a couple I'd like to share.  The first one is the menu from Nick's Bistro and if you click to enlarge it you can read the goodies on offer for the people of Weatherfield.

The mixed Lancashire tapas sounds interesting - wasn't that a dish that Ciaran McCarthy introduced when he was cheffing there?  Anyway here it is in all its glory but you'll need to click on the picture to make it large enough to read.

And here, in the bottom pictures are a couple of lollies. Ah, but these aren't any ordinary lollies, no.  They were handpicked and given to each of us from one of the sweetie jars in Rita's Norris' Kabin. I don't know what to do with my lolly - eat it or keep it? What would you do?

I've kept mine - the wrapper will never be removed!

Would you really want to lick Norris' lolly? :)

I've just eaten mine, it tasted a bit, well, odd.

It had probably been there since Len first hired Rita

It was probably made from bits of Rita's wig . . .

I had mine too. It was ok for a sugary lolly but not the best i've had.

OOh I do hope so!

I would take my lolly and stuff it in moaning whining I am always so hard done by Sophie Websters mouth, perhaps then what came out of it could be intelligible!!

Looking at the menu - would the folk of Weatherfield even know what Butternut Squash and broad beans were? The only beans around there come out of a blue tin from Mr Heinz!

I was hoping for you that you would eat the lolly and then have a lovely fond memory of the sugary delight. However, it does seem like the stale stuff has probably been there since the beginning and maybe would have been more valuable as a visual prop in your collection?
