Lloyd returns to Corrie as Streetcars cabbie rival

Great news for fans for Craig Charles, he'll be back on our screens soon on Coronation Street after his stint away filming Red Dwarf.

And there's a rumour in The Sun today that says his character, cabbie Lloyd Mullaney, will make his return working for a rival cab-firm, and not for Streetcars on the cobbles.

Let's hope Steve gets Lloyd back on the books at Streetcars as soon as he can. Those two are Corrie gold together.

Craig has already started filming on Corrie, and The Sun have a picture of him "fuming as taxi breaks down".

Looking forward to Lloyd's return. We need some banter between him, Steve and Eileen. I don't think this is going to happen but it would be great if he was aghast at Eileen and Paul. Don't let Lloyd get involved with a woman just yet - he's more fun on his own.

The best Corrie news I have heard in a long, long time - anxiously awaiting Lloyd's return. Please put Eileen, Steve and Lloyd back together at Streetcars!!

Love Lloyd and glad he's coming back - but why would he return just to steal business away from the guy who's meant to be his best mate? Perhaps all will be revealed, but it seems odd to me.

The above post doesn't say he's trying to steal business from Steve, only that he's working for another cab firm. Given how things were left, I can understand if he wouldn't want to come crawling back to Steve for a job.
