Tonight was the first episode I had seen since the night John fell off the roof of Weatherfield General, I stopped watching the show for a week, as I didn't feel like the show had anything for me (also for coverage of the Electronic Entertainment Expo over in L.A.).
Everything about tonight's Corrie contained everything I loved about the show from the second half of last year - sunny streets, sunny people, drama and the show looking nice and cinematic.
I think Graeme's exit was perfect, for such a warm character it feels only right that he left under a bright blue sky, with all his errors forgiven. Was also good to have a mention of poor 'Ash', or Ashley to me and you, and to hear the history of Graeme and his days at the Casa Del Platt.
Farewell Graeme!

I have to agree, I thought his exit was fantastic! No crazy stunts, just dramatic, domestic problems.
Loved this episode..only wishing they had introduced Xin earlier so we could have warmed up to her character.I loved the little tribute to Ashley as well.
Well done guys. Thanks.
Actually going to miss Graeme which suprises me! (Sniff sniff)
This is what Collinson does best. Leave the dramatic storylines to Eastenders and have Corrie as the happy feel good soap :D
Sorry folks I am going to have to disagree. I thought some of the acting was terrible yesterday - Sean mooning around, Gail with her best sour face on - WHY DOES she let David speak to her like that in her own house? Rita wearing a very strange wig and Tina's rather unbelievable tears at the end when we all know she is soon going to forget Grahame for Tommy Duckworth. Kylie did make me laugh though with her choice of jukebox, in fact she was the only one that was any good yesterday. Any barmaid that attacks a customer, for whatever reason should and would be sacked.
I'd have enjoyed it more if my phone hadn't kept ringing, disturbing my viewing!
As ill-paced as this storyline was and as implausible as the character motivations have always been, I did enjoy how it played out last night, at the end - there were some really lovely little scenes between Graeme and David and Tina and Gail.
Enjoyed Graeme's exit which was a whole lot better than Liz M.'s... Tina's performance I've never enjoyed except the very end when she "releases" Graham. Now I think the Tina character should leave as well...
Enjoyed his tribute to Ashley and his time at the butcher's.
I agree with Frosty... didn't understand what all the fuss was about re: Sean -- that's his son! And Violet's in the hospital and he should be getting a move on not mooning about wondering if he'll do a good job or not... HELLO! your son needs you... so???? get going!!!
I can understand Sean's hesitation. He's not been much of a part of the boy's life and it's only in the last year that Violet's even allowed him near. The boy barely knows him and Sean wouldn't have figured Violet would let him bring Dylan away. Plus, understandably, he got a bit scared with the prospect of the responsibility all of a sudden, and whether he would be able to do it in spite of how much he loves the boy.
Tvor, you say that Dylan barely knows Sean but doesn't Marcus already know Dylan? Wasn't he there when Sean went to London to see Violet? I got the impression that Marcus had been around Dylan quite a lot, so Dylan should feel quite at home surely.
Or maybe it's just my memory doing me a disservice :-)
yes i think Dylan would know Marcus but Sean is the lad's father and it's his responsibility. I can understand he wouldn't assume that Marcus would be willing to help take on a parenting role even temporarily, especially, as Sean pointed out, they had only just reconciled. *We* know Marcus is a pretty upstanding guy but if i was in Sean's place, i would probably not want to assume either and I'd be overwhelmed.
I enjoyed Gramme's exit last night I thought it wasn't the best exit they could have given him but I think that was more to do with the Xin storyline which thankfully is now over. But on the whole it was a good start to the week, a bit too much Shaun for my liking though.
i found the shaun thing very intrusive into what was a very sensitive and well written ending to greame and xin ! i would have much prefered the episode to contain gail, david, tina, greame and xin all the rest just lost the tone of the whole episode !
Well maybe it was the mood I was in but I found the whole Graeme exit plot didn't do justice to the character Graig Gazey had developed so well. I am so sad to see him go - brilliant line delivery, comic timing and a lovable kind heart. Really good chance of being a great comic actor. Just hope he returns in his rickshaw soon.
Lovely to hear his tribute to 'Ash'....no one else seems to remember him. Miss Graeme already.... :-(

I also miss Graeme -- but the Graeme that was before Tina. She seemed to drag him down. Yes, his tribute to Ash was really lovely, and the two of them had a chemistry that was fun. I just didn't see any chemistry with Greame and Tina.
Agreed. Graeme and Tina made a very odd couple. Frankly, I don't think much of Tina's character...who's she going to attach herself to now?
